Yesterday was intense, running like crazy acting like we are panicking in the hot Louisiana sun. I did not think extra work would be this intense, but it makes sense since it is an action flick. We may get to see a few stunts and explosions so that should be fun! Well, I am off to another day at 4am till probably 5pm. For now, I am leaving you with the bright and beautiful part deux of our shoot. This set may be my favorite.

Hello. I started way early this morning on the Green Lantern set… 4:00 AM. Started off running from the bad yellow octopus and now just hanging around. A few more hours to go.

My schedule is all messed up now thanks to this tropical depression Bonnie. The filming got moved to Wednesday in Nola and then I have to come back to Lafayette on Sunday for my brother’s surprise engagement party (someone told the secret so no longer a surprise), and then I have to travel back to Nola that night for a week and a half of more filming!! So I am sewing away today and tomorrow, stopping occasional to do a little PR work. I feel like I have been working non-stop lately. So when I feel like I need a break from work, I usually hop on the wonderful thing called the internet and look at pretty photos. I found the gorgeous ones below and they are making me want to start my draping design class now. I seriously can’t wait!!! Well, I shall stop talking and get to work. Look how beautiful…  Oh, I’m so excited because two of my friend’s are auditioning for American Idol today and I think they have a good chance at making it!!! Crossing my fingers!!

Every summer since I was young enough to attend daycare, I have participated in the St. Jude Trike-a-thon. I can remember decorating our bicycles with red, white and blue streamers (we use to have it 4th of July week) and raising money from sponsors for the big day. We would ride down big roads and race to the finish line. It was loads of fun and we were raising money for a very good cause. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, for those of you who may not know, is ranked best in childhood cancer care. We have had a few students from the daycare attend over the years so the fundraiser has become intimate.

This year was no exception. The kids had a great time riding around in their trikes, bikes, helmets and gear. I got a few shots of the younger group. More than 100 children participated this year!

Michael brought his scooter. Ha it was a little hard for him to scoot in the grass but he finished strong! the younger classes watch the “big kids” ride by.

While they were riding, I was helping campers create their unique cocktail rings. They loved the craft…anything with paint and hot glue guns is a hit!

Buttons, beads, sequins, and pretty much anything else we could find were glued onto their hand painted rings.
