It has been over a month since I visited my future home which I had a mix of emotions. This year is full of mixed emotions…so so full of excitement about my wedding and future marriage and future home, a bit of anxiety about wedding details (who doesn’t when planning a wedding) and finding a new job and new place in my future city, and a bit of sadness to leave this huge wonderful city that I am now just feeling is home. It will be sad to leave New York. This past year has truly been a great life adventure…ups and downs and growing and changing in so many ways. I feel like moving to new places and visiting new places for an extended amount of time does that to its new inhabitants which is always a great thing. Although it will be sad to close the chapter to this city for now I truly can’t wait to start my new one in Nashville.
Nashville is growing and the place to be right now according to the New York Times. Supposedly GQ is calling it “Nowville.” So more adventurous times ahead indeed!
Downtown area likes to honky tonk.
We took a little tourist visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame.
And a little stop by Jack White’s studio.
East Nashville is full of great hip restaurants. Visit here (and get one of the couscous bowls) and here (the quinoa bowl and the beans and greens were very good) if u get a chance.
Imogene + Willie was definitely one of my favorite shop spots with custom fit jeans and a design studio in full view. The hanging pattern drafts made this little designer’s heart skip a beat! The prices are a little high but definitely worth it when considering the quality.
Ummm…and this place. We had it probably over 5 times counting a pint we brought home to snack on while movie viewing.
and finally back to my current home. How can you not love this city?! (You definitely can hate it at times. It took me almost a year to finally love it.)
Dreaming of crazy adventurous months ahead,
Twila
