Ugh! I lost (or was accidentally taken at the crazy amazing Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale) my phone yesterday and I feel lost…completely lost. I have no idea if I can survive in this city without a phone….sounds a little dramatic but I honestly am not sure if I can get to work today without it…no maps, no Instagram, no blog rolls to keep me entertained, no music on the train. Ugh! What did we do before these smart phones?! Below are snipets of a happier day, which was actually taken with my missing phone! The wonders that phones can do these days… it is difficult to live without them.

This gorgeous and inspiring wall is on the way to my favorite Brooklyn Saturday past time, Smorgasburg, the best food market around which you should already know plenty about if you follow my Instagram or this blog. Last Saturday, as I was walking back from my favorite past time with a full belly of amazingly tasty food, I noticed this wall had changed a bit. It was now tagged with black mumbo jumbo writing which I could not decode. I am not one that is against graffiti but if you are going to share your “artwork” then at least make it look nice and do it in a location that needs a bit of sprucing up…not on a beautiful wall with an eye catching color, exposed brick and naturally growing vines…sadness. So farewell to a beautiful Brooklyn wall.

The wall also had a message to tell me. “Forgive!” This is sometimes a hard word to master. You want to think you are great at forgiving and you don’t hold grudges but sometimes it is very hard to put the past behind you and move forward by truly forgiving. And by true forgiveness, I mean not saying you forgive then bringing up the situation the next time you are reminded of it. I mean forgiving by not mentioning it ever again and act like it didn’t even happen. If we want to be forgiven of the things we do, we need to learn how to forgive thoroughly also. And yes, I am preaching to myself. I’m still working on this little life lesson ha. Some things just take longer than others to truly grasp. Life is honestly too short to hold onto things. Let go and feel free again, and then eat a blood orange glazed donut…so good!
