Hope your Memorial Day was swell! Mine was simply amazing. The weekend started off with being greeted by Bri Guy’s face early in the am. After napping a bit, we biked on our rentals 12 miles, which was a  long trek up and down hill, to grill and hang with lovely friends. The grilling crew stopped for natural rhubarb and lemon snowballs at the Brooklyn Flea on the ride back to give our legs and tush a break. The next day, we, the bike gang, opted out of any exercise and took a trip to Rockaway Beach where we relaxed, snacked on Rockaway Tacos and soaked up rays while the guys of the group jumped waves in the ice cold water. The night ended with a rooftop dinner party overlooking Manhattan’s skyline. Nice, huh?! Now tell me how cool your Memorial Day weekend was…

Oh, there is a DIY below…

This was an impromptu craft that came to me on my day off  after staring at my three year old dark purple iPhone cover/case wishing that my beautiful, new one would come in already. Since I couldn’t look at the drabby one any longer, I decided to make a change and that I did. Took out my paints, put on some Fleet Foxes and painted away. So if you would like to try an easy and relaxing craft, here’s how to do it.

supplies: paint brushes (one medium and one smaller for polka dots), paint (I used Martha Stuarts all-purpose paints), iPhone case, magazine pages (or anything to catch your paint droppings), glass of water (to soak your paint brushes in after use)

step 1: paint the primary color completely covering your case. let the paint dry between each coat. it took four coats to completely cover the original dark color of the case.

step 2: after the primary coat is completely dry, paint dots with the contrasting color

step 3: let dry and cover your phone with it!!

NOTE: I did not use a protectant coat or sealer to protect the painted design because I am only using this case for a few days. If you are planning to use this case for a while I would suggest painting a coat of modge podge as your last sealing coat.

Dreaming of a lovely last visiting day with the guy,

Twila
