Vintage rompers are in the store now. My homemade rompers will be coming soon but until then these lovely one of a kind finds are available!! A few of them are great for dressy summer nights and can be carried over into fall and winter by adding a scarf and a few other accessories! Have fun shopping!

I’m off to work on homemade onesies in multiple sizes!

Dreaming of a rainy, relaxing day,

PS. You know what I dont get is that the satellite goes out when there is a minor rain storm. That is the time you want it to work most because you are stuck inside. I understand the whole science and it being outside thing but this needs to get fixed.

Oldies but Goodies

March 12th, 2010

So I decided to take a look in the back of my closet, and found a few items dear to my heart and decided to share them. I started crafting at a young age even before I knew how to use a sewing machine. Well I wasn’t that young, maybe in middle school was when I started. I would make skirts, purses, embellished shirts…whatever I could do without a sewing machine. If I needed a sewing machine I would use it until I had to re-thread it because I could never get that part down. Here are a few of my projects from way back in the day.

I had a fascination with tie skirts ever since middle school when I saw a girl wearing one over spring break. I did not have the sewing machine skills down just yet so I begged a good friend to make me one and that she did (the one I am pointing to.) I wore it for a while and decided to make my own version. After gathering many ties from friend’s fathers and salvation army…voila, my tie strapless dress!

I loved this dress but only wore it a few times because other people didn’t like it as much. Maybe I will wear it for the big festival coming up! It looks like festival wear.

I added a little tie-tie in the back for more detail. This dress took forever because I was still not so good at the sewing machine.

This little guy was before I even dared the sewing machine. It was all hand sewn. I loved this material so much that I embellished a shirt with it and made a purse out of it. I had to hold it close because of the lack of zipper. And I am still having troubles with zippers to this day. I just can’t figure them out! Any tips?!

And since I was taking photos thought I would include my outfit of the day…my thrifted onesie that I am thrilled about. The weather is just right for it and that makes me happy!

I might have to change the shoes to actually get anything done today. They are cute but crazy hard to walk in. I need wedge sandals!

Now off to, you guessed it, sewing!! Just the zipper and beading left.

Dreaming of only having to put my zipper in one time,

Springy Springy Shorts

March 10th, 2010

With the weather semi warming up (I was able to wear shorts yesterday, but with my over the knee boots), I have been dreaming more of spring outfits. Last spring/summer I lived in rompers. It gets very hot here and I am very hot natured so I usually live in shorts. So when rompers came back, I took that style and ran with it. As you can tell, I am still not over them, but I have been dreaming of shorts as well.

Since I have been dreaming about these articles of clothing I decided to browse some of my favorite shops and pick out a few things. I put them in my cart for now but haven’t ordered them quite yet, ha. Maybe after all of my sewing adventures (dress, swimsuit, and thrifted finds), I will find time to make a pair of shorts. I have been wanting to design a pair shorts or a onesie, but it scares me a bit. I can’t seem to grasp the pattern concept of the shorts. It seems so difficult. I did find a sweet vintage romper pattern in my large stack of patterns that I acquired at a garage sale a while back. So I shall attempt in the near future. But for now I will dream of some of these and maybe even make a few purchases.

I started with Urban Outfitters because they usually have some pretty unique things. And some of them were actually pretty cheap!

I really want these short jersey ruffled shorts, but I may have to get them now to wear with tights under. They seem pretty short but comfy.

florals, pleats and patterns!

This onesie is the perfect balance between playful and dressy. Summer Breakfast Hat Club?!

Ok, so I tried Anthro, Lulus and Modcloth and didnt find a thing so I decided to go onto Etsy. I love this site because it usually has very cute handmade and vintage clothing and I want to support those who are in this business. The items are usually unique which is something I always love, but I do have one not so good thing to say about it. It is  always so hard to search for the good items. I wish they had a better search. You have to sit there and go through tons of not so good items to get to the goos ones. So here are just a few of the some of my wish list items. There are probably tons more. I only got to page 15 of 92, ha.

The simplicity and safari-esque look of this romper makes me want a pretty day in spring drinking lemon aid.

These shorts are made from vintage trousers. My grandmother gave me some of her old ones so maybe I can give it a try. But how cute are these?!

These are a bit pricey but are oh so cute!

Ok how adorable is this!? She handmakes a lot of cute goodies. Definitely check her out.

Forever 21 is always pretty cheap. Sometimes the materials are too, but you pay for what you get right? I still love this things and I am really thiking about them because of their lovely prices.

Dont you just love this whole style from JCrew!? They are always so plain and simple. I am so into simple today ha.

Let me know if you find some cuter shorts! I am now off to more sewing, of course.

Dreaming of a finished dress,
